Academy of Persian Language and Literature
Iran's Academy of Persian Language and Literature (Persian: فرهنگستان زبان و ادب
فارسی, pronounced [færhæŋɡestɒːn e zæbɒːn væ ædæb e fɒːrsiː]) is a body
controlled by the Iranian government presiding over the use of the Persian
language in Iran and other Persian speaking countries. The academy members are
academics of Persian literature and linguistics from Iran, Tajikistan,
Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan.

Academy of Sciences of Iran
The Academy of Sciences of Iran (Persian: فرهنگستان علوم جمهوری اسلامی ایران)
was established in 1988. It is one of the four academies of the Islamic Republic
of Iran. The other three are: Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences, Iranian
Academy of the Arts and Academy of Persian Language and Literature.

Institute of Geophysics
The Institute of Geophysics (مؤسسه ژئوفیزیک) is the name of a scientific
institute in Iran.
The Institute of Geophysics manages Iran's national seismic data, and directs
Iran's national calendar, which is based on the Solar calendar.
The institute currently trains Ph.D students in Meteorology, Seismology,
Electromagnetics, and Gravimetry, and is still affiliated with the University of
Tehran.

standardization and certification. It is the Iranian representative to

Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences
The Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) is an advanced
research center and graduate level degree granting institution in Zanjan, Iran.
It was founded by its current director Prof. Yousef Sobouti in 1991. The
institute is considered to be one of the most productive research centers of the
country. It offers advanced degrees (Master's and above) in Mathematics,
Physics, Geophysics, Biophysics and Chemistry. As of 2008, the mathematics
department offers master of science degrees in Computer Science with
concentration on Artificial Intelligence(esp. Multi Agent Systems and
Computational Geometry) and Graph & Algorithms. The university also runs two
undergraduate programs in Information Technology, one of which is a joint
program with Heriot Watt University of the United Kingdom.

International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology
International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES) is an
international earthquake engineering and seismology institute based in Iran. It
was established as a result of the 24th UNESCO General Conference Resolution
DR/250 under Iranian government approval in 1989. It was founded as an
independent institute within the Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and
Technology.

Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences
The Academy of Medical Sciences of Iran (Persian: فرهنگستان علوم پزشکی جمهوری
اسلامی ایران) was formally inaugurated in the winter of 1990. It had received
its mandate from the High Council of Cultural Revolution and Legislature of the
Islamic Republic of Iran two years earlier and its existence had been foreseen
in the 1986 Charter of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. It is one
of the four academies of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The other three are:
Academy of Sciences of Iran, Iranian Academy of the Arts and Academy of Persian
Language and Literature.

Iranian Center for Translation Studies
Iranian Center for Translation Studies or ICTS is an Iranian research center
working in affiliation with Allameh Tabataba'i University in order to initiate a
translation movement and upgrade the status of translation in Iran.

Iranian Research Institute for Scientific Information and Documentation
Iranian Research Institute for Scientific Information and Documentation
(IRANDOC) is an Iranian research center.
It was established in 1968 as the governmental organisation known as Iranian
Documentation Centre to "bring modern information to scientists and professors".
In March 1969 IRANDOC became part of the Ministry of Science and Higher
Education's new Institute for Research and Planning in Science and Education,
along with Center for Scientific Policy, Center for Educational Planning and the
Center for Library Services. In 1970 it had a staff of 60 personnel, with 30
being college graduates, and seven had doctorates. When the Institute was
disestablished in 1983, IRANDOC continued under the supervision of the Deputy
Minister Office for Research.
A revised charter was approved by the Council for Development of Higher
Education in 1991, changing its status to a research center and its name changed
to its present form.
IRANDOC is a national member of International Federation of Library Associations
and Institutions (IFLA) and Association for Information Management (ASLIB).

Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology
Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) is a
comprehensive science policy research center directly attached to the Ministry
of Science, Research and Technology of Iran which was approved and ratified by
Revolutionary Council of Iran in 1980. IROST as the biggest research center in
Iran, is chiefly engaged in development of strategies, policies, R&D systems,
management, foresight and evaluation of related Science and Technology (S&T)
development and S&T for economic progress.

Iranian Society Of Mechanical engineering
Iranian Society Of Mechanical engineering (ISME) founded in 1991 by some Iranian
Mechanical engineers and professors (among them: Dr Mahdi Bahadori nezhad, Mr
Mohammad Bagherian) to develop and enhance Mechanical Engineering in Iranian
universities and industries. It is now responsible for annual mechanical
engineering conference in Iran which is held in spring.

National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents
National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET, also known
as SAMPAD, Persian: سمپاد , which stands for سازمان ملی پرورش استعدادهای درخشان
in Persian, Sazman-e Melli-e Parvaresh-e Estedadha-ye Derakhshan) are national
Middle and High Schools in Iran developed specifically for the development of
exceptionally talented students in Iran. NODET was first established in 1976
re-established in 1987 having its first branches in Hamedan and Kerman.

SAMT (Organization)
The Organization for Researching and Composing University textbooks in the
Humanities (Persian: سازمان مطالعه و تدوین کتب علوم انسانی دانشگاهها) or SAMT*
(Persian: سمت) is a public organization and publisher in Iran established by the
"High Council for Cultural Revolution" after the Iranian Cultural Revolution in
1985. The organization publishes academic textbooks and sources on humanities in
Iranian universities.
